Extremely rare bears grease from Patey & Co London
I have been collecting pharmacy related antiques for nearly 40 years and started shortly after qualifying as a Pharmacist. I come from a family of collectors and always had an interest in antiques and collectables. Collecting coins was a starting point when I was at primary school.
Being a Pharmacist there was a strong interest in Pharmacy Antiques. Initially I tended to collect anything pharmacy related, however over time I have started to become a little more specialised. Bears Grease pot lids, Warner's Safe Cure bottles, poisons and chemist rounds, and anything related to WA Chemists have taken centre stage.
I am always looking to add to my collection especially the rare or unusual. Please view the galleries to see the types of items I am interested in. I believe it is important to preserve and record pharmacy history through the items they used and sold in their businesses.
The photo galleries represent a sample of what is in the collection. They hopefully tell a story about how pharmacy operated in Victorian times. The intention is to continually add information, stories and new photos to add to this story.
